Oscar Pistorius Sells Home to Pat Legal Fees

According to ESPN, Judge Masipa heard the closing arguments from both sides of the case and will have a ruling on September 11.

“Judge Thokozile Masipa made the announcement after the prosecution and defense ended their final arguments. Masipa will decide with the help of two legal assistants if the double-amputee athlete should face prison for killing Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day last year in his home. If found guilty of premeditated murder, Pistorius could face 25 years and up to life in prison.”

Pistorius and his defense claim that the double-amputee Olympic runner killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp as a reflex when he believed she was an intruder in his home. The prosecution believes that Pistorius killed Steenkamp out of rage that stemmed from a fight the couple had in the previous days.

'Blade Runner' Involved in Bar Fight

In the five months since the the trial began, Pistorius has sold his home to pay his legal fees, been subject to concealing after repetitively breaking down on the stand during questioning, been deemed borderline suicidal after his treatment and gotten in a bar fight when confronted about the case in a local spot.

Pistorius faces jail time even if he isn't found guilty of the murder as he still shot and killed Steenkamp. Pistorius is the first double-amputee to qualify for the Olympic games and participated in the men's 400 metres and 4 × 400 metres relay for South Africa.
