Rory McIlroy is the hottest thing in golf after winning his third straight tournament, including two major championships. Rory recently revealed that the secret behind his resurgence is his infamous breakup with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.

The Irish golfer said that his breakup with Wozniacki left him in a better place mentally and it has allowed him to put golf first and ahead of all other things in his life.
‘I think what happened has been for the best in terms of my golf. I’ve put a bit more time into it and it has refocused me. I mean, what else do I have to do now? he said.
“I go to the golf course, to the gym and it’s just my life at the minute. I worked pretty hard before but the past couple of months I’ve really just buried myself in my game. I've practiced hard and I've done all the right things and I'm reaping the rewards.’
McIlroy added that no breakup is easy and it has impacted him in negative ways as well, but for the sake of his golf game it’s been all positive. In his time since the breakup with Wozniacki, McIlroy has taken the golf world by storm. He has reclaimed the No. 1 World Golf Ranking and became the first player since Tiger Woods in 2008 to win three straight tournaments on the PGA Tour.
