Tony Stewart News: Kevin Ward's Father Speaks Out Against NASCAR Star After Son Killed On The Track [VIDEO]

Kevin Ward Jr. was killed in an on-track accident involving NASCAR star Tony Stewart, who often moonlights on dirt tracks. His father, Kevin Sr., recently spoke with The Syracuse Post-Standard and lashed out at Stewart for his driving.

"Tony Stewart was the best damn driver by far on the track that night. Why he had to go up as high as he did and hog my son, there's no reason for it," Ward Sr. told the paper.

Stewart had made contact with Ward's vehicle and sent him spiraling into the wall, which angered him. Video of the crash shows an angry Ward Jr. exiting his vehicle and running on the track, forcing another driver to swerve around him. Next, Stewart's car enters the frame and clips Ward Jr., sending him flying a considerable distance.

"Apparently, Tony Stewart was the only one driving out there who didn't see him," Ward Sr. said.

Police spoke with Stewart after the incident happened, but he's currently not facing any criminal charges, and Ward Sr. implied he doesn't expect any to come down. "The one person that knows what happened that night is possibly facing 10 years in prison. Is he going to say what he done?"

Stewart expressed sadness about the incident soon after it happened. "There aren't words to describe the sadness I feel about the accident that took the life of Kevin Ward Jr.," Stewart said in a statement.

He also explained why he was on the track in the first place with a major Sprint Cup race coming up the next day. Last year Stewart missed half the NASCAR season with a broken leg suffered in a dirt track race.

"Everybody has hobbies," Stewart said a month ago. "That's what I like to do when I have extra time. I don't think there is anything wrong with doing it. I feel like there are a lot of other things I could be doing that are a lot more dangerous and a lot bigger waste of time with my time off do than doing that."
