WWE Rumors: Reason Why Alberto Del Rio Can Work In AAA This Sunday, WWE Unhappy [VIDEO]

Alberto Del Rio was fired last week and he confirmed in a video that he'll appear at AAA's TripleMania XXII event in Mexico this Sunday despite his no-compete clause, and more information has surfaced as to why that is possible.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that Del Rio, whose real name is Alberto Rodriguez, is doing media appearances in Mexico for the TripleMania XXII event under the Del Rio name, despite the fact that the WWE has rights to it.

According to the report, Del Rio isn't wrestling Sunday night, but he is able to appear because his 90-day no-compete clause with the WWE doesn't extend to Mexico. Del Rio will be making an appearance at the event and is a special guest since his WWE departure has put him in a major babyface position with AAA.

Del Rio's relationship with the WWE is reportedly up in the air as well. WWE is reportedly unhappy with Del Rio appearing in AAA and doesn't want him to make the appearance. The WWE also doesn't want him fleeing for TNA and is looking to lock him up in a lengthy no-compete clause that would last more than 90 days..

The WWE reportedly wants Del Rio to have a lengthy no-compete clause similar to the one Jim Ross had, where he was let-go last September but couldn't appear for any other wrestling entity until the clause expires, which was recently.

Del Rio would get paid during his time away from the wrestling industry by the WWE, should a lengthy no-compete clause become a reality. Regarding rumors that Rey Mysterio, who is reportedly in a contract dispute with the WWE, will appear at the AAA event this Sunday, those are totally false.

Del Rio posted a promo about returning to AAA earlier this week.

"Hello aficionados of Mexico and AAA, the boss is back," Del Rio said in a translation of the video. "What better place to call my home than AAA. Thanks for all the supports and you guys know there is quality where ever the boss is and there is quality in AAA, there was no better place to go. See you soon and God bless you."

Del Rio was fired from the WWE last week for slapping WWE's Manager of Social Media Live Events Cody Barbierri at last week's television tapings. The original reports that still seem to be true were that Barbierri made a joke that it was Del Rio's job, due to his Hispanic background, to clear off his plate when he was told to in catering.

Del Rio wasn't there at the time, but he was informed of it and later confronted Barbierri and asked for an apology to the racist comment, and when Barbierri didn't oblige, Del Rio slapped him. Del Rio reportedly hit him really hard and knocked him to the floor, leading to his departure.

There have been reports that a lot of people backstage disagree with the release of Del Rio and that he was very upset about it despite the fact that he was looking to leave the promotion soon for Mexico anyway
