Two clubs chasing the Apertura Liga MX title will do battle today in a league match between Club Tijuana and the Jaguares de Chiapas. The first-division clash scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET will be held at the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana and can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on ESPN Deportes.
Four matches into the season, Club Tijuana find themselves dwelling near the bottom of the Liga MX table. Even worse, the club is still in search of its first victory of the 2014 Apertura. Manager Cesar Frias, however, remains unconcerned, proclaiming his side is still playing quality football. Unfortunately, the results just haven't followed.
"It was an open game [against Morelia] that could've gone to either team," Frias said following Tijuana's scoreless draw on Friday (via El Universal). "We just haven't had the run of luck that we need, but we've played great football against other teams."
"We have to take note of the fact that we kept a clean sheet against a team that also needed to win," he added. "They were also looking for the victory."
With Chiapas sitting fifth in the Liga MX table, only one club is desperate for a victory. Time is ticking on the excuses in Tijuana.
