American heartthrob Kate Upton and rumored boyfriend and Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander might be heating up as a couple as they completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge together.

Upton and Verlander completed the challenge by dumping the ice water on each other in what looks like one of their backyards.

After completing the challenge, Upton nominated makeup artist Bobbi Brown and her co-stars in her film The Other Woman, Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. Verlander nominated his brother Ben, Baseball Hall of Famer Frank Thomas and American tennis star Andy Roddick.

The rules for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge are as follows:
“The Ice Bucket Challenge started as a way to raise awareness and funds for the ALS Association to help find a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Once nominated, a person has 24 hours to complete the challenge or donate $100 to the cause.”
According to Forbes, the challenge has raised $23 million toward ALS research which is up from the $1.9 million that the ALS Association raised at this time last year. The ALS Association raised $64 million total in 2013 and is on pace to shatter that in 2014.
