The 14th annual Herbie Awards celebrates the best players in college football in the eyes of ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit.
The 14th annual awards will take on the challenge of naming a the best and brightest in college football for the 2014 season. The categories rage from the Herbie for National Champion and “Ultimate Herbie” to lesser known players in categories like “Best-Kept Secret” and “Breakout Star.”
The nominees for the highest honors Herbstreit has to offer come from the National Champion and “Ultimate Herbie” awards. The nominees for the two big awards are as follows:
Ultimate Herbie:
RB Ameer Abdullah, Nebraska
QB Brett Hundley, UCLA
QB Marcus Mariota, Oregon
National Champion:
Florida State
Alabama
Michigan State
UCLA
