Two clubs in the Western Conference of MLS will do battle today in a league match between the Colorado Rapids and Los Angeles Galaxy. The first-division clash scheduled for 9 p.m. ET will be held at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Colorado and can be live streamed here.
"Defiant," no word better describes the current state of the Colorado Rapids. A depleted roster took another blow following the injury to captain Drew Moor (ACL) in Sunday's 4-2 loss to D.C. United. That, however, has not taken head coach Pablo Mastroeni's will to fight.
"You can take our arms, you can take our legs, you can take our captain, but what you cannot take is our will to fight," Mastroeni told MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday. "In losing such a critical piece of the team, you hope that there's a response."
Technical director Paul Bravo added: "There's cover [back] there. We just need guys to step up. That's the most important thing."
Unknown commodities will get their first opportunity to do so at home tonight.
