Two clubs in the top half of the Brasileiro Serie A table will do battle today in a league match between Cruzeiro and Gremio. The contest scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET will be held at the Stadium Minearo in Belo Horizonte and can be live streamed here free.
Having defeated Santos 3-0 on Sunday, Cruzeiro cruised to the top of the Serie A table in Brazil with 33 points. For head coach Marcelo Oliveira, it was the work of the players that made the club's accomplishment that much easier.
"It [the victory] was great," he said following the match (via ESPN). "We had an extremely difficult game. We played a beautiful game. Victory was essential to resume our journey. Our success is not by chance, it is by [the hard] work and quality of [our] players. It is good that we maintain a high utilization [of our skills] at home because difficulties [are ahead of us]."
One of those difficulties include a visit from Gremio this evening.
Tactical Preview
Player to Watch: Charged with controlling the midfield for Gremio is Fellipe Bastos. The 24-year-old enters today averaging four tackles and 1.5 clearances per match. He'll look to provide the club defensive stability and organization in Belo Horizonte.
