Messi-Ronaldo Debate: David Beckham Says Ronaldo 'Not At Messi's Level'

Paris Saint-Germain star David Beckham weighed in on the debate of which player is better between Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, telling the Argentine news agency Telam that Ronaldo "doesn't reach the level of Messi." Both Messi and Ronaldo are regarded by many as the best two players in the world and have been at the center of debate between soccer fans all over the world.

"They can have similarities in their technical skills and talent, and it is hallucinating for football to have them both present, but Messi is simply the best player in the world," Beckham told Telam.

"He [Messi] is alone in his class as a player, it is impossible that there is another like him," the 37-year-old midfielder told Telam. "He, like Cristiano Ronaldo, who is not at his level, are both above the rest."

Beckham saw the talents of Messi first hand when the injured striker came off the bench on Wednesday to help Barcelona fight back for a 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain and reach the Champions League semifinals for a sixth year in a row. Barca will face Bayern Munich in the semifinals.
