Week 4 of the preseason is for finalizing roster cuts, and there's an interesting name vying to stay a Cowboy-former second round pick Ryan Williams. The ex-Cardinals rusher faces a steep climb behind three veterans, but his talent could keep him afloat.

Williams may not play in the preseason finale despite his somewhat precarious roster security, but Dallas executive vice president Stephen Jones said he may be safe even if he can't go tonight.

"We've got a great feel," Jones said. "He's done an admirable job. He's done nothing but get better since he's been here. If you look at his full body of work, it's good. I don't necessarily think we have to see him [Thursday] night."

Williams was viewed as the solution in Arizona's backfield a short while ago before a ruptured patella tendon derailed his momentum. In his sophomore campaign injury knocked him out again, this time it was his shoulder.

This preseason though he's turned heads.

"To come out here every day and I know that I am healthy and know that I can make plays and know my ability and what I am capable of doing - very, very, satisfying," he said. "But as far as everything that is going on right now, I try not to pay attention to it. It's a number s games. The one thing I do know it's a numbers game and it's a business."

Head coach Jason Garrett praised Williams too-- "I like Ryan Williams. I like him a lot...It's a real credit to him how hard he's worked to show he belongs as a member of this football team."
