Mexico National Team: Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez Not Named To 22-Man Roster For Chile and Bolivia Friendlies

A perfect mix of old, new and former regulars have been beckoned by Mexico head coach Miguel Herrera. In total, 22 players were called upon to represent El Tri in the upcoming September friendlies against Chile and Bolivia.

Below is the full 22-man roster:

Goalkeepers: Guillermo Ochoa (Málaga), Alfredo Talavera (Toluca)

Defenders: Paul Aguilar (America), Carlos Salcido (Chivas), Francisco Rodriguez (Cruz Azul), Miguel Herrera (Pachuca), Oswaldo Alanis (Santos), Luis Venegas (Atlas), Jorge Torres Nilo (Tigres), Hiram Mier (Monterrey), Rodolfo Pizarro (Pachuca)

Midfielders: Marco Fabian (Cruz Azul), Miguel Ponce (Toluca), Andres Guardado (PSV), Héctor Herrera (Porto), Jose Juan Vazquez (Leon), Antonio Ríos (Toluca), Javier Aquino (Rayo Vallecano),

Forwards: Giovani Dos Santos (Villarreal), Erick Torres (Chivas USA), Oribe Peralta (América), Javier Orozco (Santos Laguna)

One glaring name absent from the list is that of Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez. The 26-year-old is in transfer limbo and has been left behind to sort out his club future. "I had a word with him and we agreed that the best thing was to wait, most of all so he can stay where he is and decide his future," Herrera told Mediotiempo (via Sky Sports). "It's not good for him, and either for me, to have him in the team if he has his mind on what could happen with him."

"We are both calm," he added. "We don't have any hurry. We took the decision together, so he can wait and see if there is a transfer or if he will stay there at Manchester."

Mexico will face Chile on Sept. 6 in Santa Clara, California before traveling to Denver to meet with Bolivia on Sept. 9.
