Fantasy Football 2014 Team Previews: Minnesota Vikings Sleepers, Must Owns; Cordarrelle Patterson Ready To Make Leap, But Needs Teddy Bridgewater?

NFL training camps are open, and for millions of people worldwide their fantasy football preparation has begun in earnest. Here at Sports World News we will break down all 32 NFL teams in terms of their fantasy value. Readers will find the must-own players in every format, the sleepers in specific formats, and hidden gems only necessary for those in very deep leagues.

Today's preview will be on the Minnesota Vikings.

Must Own

Adrian Peterson, RB: Peterson is a near lock to finish in the Top 5 at the running back position, which means he's a very solid choice as the top pick overall. There's nothing in the job description of a running back that he can't do, and the offense should be better as wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson keeps developing.

Cordarrelle Patterson, WR: Patterson's impact on Minnesota last year was chiefly on special teams-although for a rookie his receiving production (45 catches, 469 yards, four touchdowns) wasn't half bad. I would like Patterson's upside even more if rookie Teddy Bridgewater was starting at quarterback, but he's still a nice player.

Kyle Rudolph, TE: Rudolph's such an appealing red zone target that he should be owned by someone, but at the same time he's a low-target option that is capable of doughnuts in any given week. You are warned.

Blair Walsh, K: Walsh is a solid kicker whose in an offense that has a high likelihood of stalling with frequency. That means opportunities for the kicker.

Sleepers (Best format)

Greg Jennings, WR (PPR): Jennings is definitely not the star he once was, but in PPR formats he can still be a FLEX option for fantasy owners. He caught 68 passes in 2013 for 804 yards, but managed just four touchdowns. FLEX only.

Matt Cassel, QB (Two-QB): Cassel is a starter, therefore he's relevant in two-QB formats. Also, Patterson alone could make him matter if he explodes.

Teddy Bridgewater, QB (Two-QB): Bridgewater's the future in Minnesota, and if they start off slow they will turn to him quickly and never look back. Bridgewater was the best passer in this draft, and will impact the Vikings in a big way when he gets to play.

Deep Finds (Best format)

Defense/Special Teams: The CB tandem looks okay after adding Panthers free agent Captain Munnerlyn to the mix, and several pass rushers, including rookie Anthony Barr, could wreak havoc and force turnovers.
