Breaking: Ravens Terminate Ray Rice's Contract; NFL Suspends Him Indefintely After TMZ Sports Releases Full Video of Assault [VIDEO]

The Baltimore Ravens have terminated the contract of Ray Rice hours after TMZ Sports released the full video of the running back's Feb. 25 assault on his then-fiancee, Janay Palmer. The two got married in March.

Shortly after the Ravens released Rice, the NFL anounced that it had suspended the All-Pro indefinitely. Rice had three years remaining on his contract that was set to pay him $4 million this season, $3 million next season and $3 million in 2016.

In the video, there is no audio, Rice and Palmer appear to exchange words before entering an elevator inside a hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. Once inside the elevator, more words are exchange and Palmer is seen walking toward Rice. At that moment Rice hits Palmer with a left hook.

Palmer goes down from the punch and is knocked unconscious. After a brief pause, Rice lifts Palmer until they reach their designated floor. He then pulls her limp body halfway out the elevator, grabs her purse, removes one of her shoes and gives her a slight kick to her right leg. A hotel attendant appears on the scene as Palmer is beginning to regain consciousness.

The incident garnered national attention when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, in July, suspended Rice two games for his actions. Goodell reportedly made his decision after examining the video in its entirety.

Rice has since apologized for the assault and promised to become an activist in the movement to against domestic violence. He is slated to return to action Sept. 21 against the Browns in Cleveland.
