Michigan Wolverines junior guard Tim Hardaway Jr. decided Wednesday to forgo his final year of eligibility and declare for the NBA draft, according to ESPN.com. Hardway joins teammate and national player of the year Trey Burke as the second star player from the Wolverines' Final Four team to enter the draft pool.
"I made my decision yesterday," Hardaway told ESPN. "It felt good, felt better about myself and it was good to get it off my shoulders."
Hardaway is the son of former NBA all-star Tim Hardaway Sr., who he consulted with before making his decision. The Michigan guard also spoke to his coaches, Burke and former Michigan guard Darius Morris about the decision.
Hardaway Jr. scored 1,532 points while at Michigan to rank 18th in school history. His 202 made 3-pointers are sixth in school history and his 440 career rebounds place him 50th in school history.
The 21-year-old guard was a first-team all-Big Ten selection last season. He averaged 14.5 points and 4.7 rebounds last season for Michigan.
