Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir is likely on his way to the Hall of Fame when he retires, but with his current four-fight losing streak it's looking like Mir's career might be coming to a close sooner rather than later.

Mir last fought in February and suffered a unanimous decision loss to Alistair Overeem. He hasn't booked a fight since, and he's not sure if he ever will return to the octagon.
"I really don't know. I'm kind of just taking time off and weighing that out," Mir told MMA Fight Corner. "That's a decision that me and my family are still trying to - we haven't come to a conclusive idea yet."

At 35 years old, Mir has accomplished a lot in his mixed martial arts career. He first won the heavyweight championship in 2004 by breaking Tim Sylvia's arm via an armbar submission in the first round. A few months after winning the title, Mir was in a motorcycle accident that could've ended his life. He was stripped of his belt after being sidelined for two years.
Mir made his return to the UFC in 2007. In 2008, he defeated interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo "Minatauro" Nogueira to win his second title. At UFC 100 in 2009, he lost to Brock Lesnar in a title unification bout. He challenged for the heavyweight title a third time in 2012, but lost to champion Junior dos Santos by TKO in the second round.
At the tail-end of his career, there quite frankly aren't many interesting matchups left for Mir. The heavyweight division is getting more competitive with young contenders like Travis Browne and Stipe Miocic.
There is veteran Andrei Arlovski, who Mir was supposed to face before his motorcycle accident. But after Arlovski defeated Antonio Silva at UFC Fight Night 51 on Saturday, it doesn't make much sense for him to face Mir while he's on a four-fight skid.
