Dwight Howard Breaks Law: Orlando Police Suspend His License for Stop Light Infractions [VIDEO]

Dwight Howard is free to drive the Houston Rockets toward an NBA championship in 2014-15 because legally he's not allowed to drive anything else anytime soon.

TMZ Sports was the first to report that Florida police officials have suspended the Rockets center's driver's license for a year for incurring a 10th violation of running a red light in 2 ½ years.

According to TMZ Sports, Howard was cited nine times in a 10-month span in the Orlando area in 2012. He received his 10th violation this year on July 1, mandating the suspension of his driver's license.

Reuters.com added that Howard has several other traffice violations on his Orlando court record, including four speeding tickets, 12 citations for failing to pay highway tolls and one for failing to change the address on his license.

The 28-year-old Rockets center and five-time NBA rebounding leader has resolved all his traffic violations except for the latest red-light infraction.

Howard owes a $285 fine for running a red light , but the Reuters report says that Howard the incident took place in April.

According to Reuters, court records show that Howard's license has been suspended since at least Aug. 15. Dan Fegan, Howard's agent, has not returned a phone call seeking comment.

Howard played for the Orlando Magic from 2004-2012, before signing as a free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers.

He spent a year in Los Angeles, and expectations went through the roof for a Los Angeles Lakers team featuring a roster that included Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash and Pau Gasol.

CBSSports.com all but exonerates Howard:

"OK, the speeding tickets, sure, he's an NBA player, I'm sure his cars are amazing, that's pretty standard stuff. The address thing, that's just an officer being a jerk; seriously, who cares what address you have on your license and anyway Howard could just buy back his old house and say he lives there.

"But not paying the fines? Does he have a personal manager? Strike, that, we know he does. Why is his personal manager not handling these things? It's not like the guy is short on the cash and having to float them until his next payday. It's not a huge deal; when exactly is Howard going to need to drive in the state of Florida again, but it is just a poor way to deal with your affairs."
