WWE Rumors: 'Stone Cold' Returning? Backstage News On Steve Austin Possibly Returning To The Ring [VIDEO]

There have been reports that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and the WWE may be working together soon since the company promoted his Steve Austin Unleashed podcast for Podcastone.com on RAW and reports indicate that he could be training hard for an in-ring return.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that some people close to Austin have noted that the "Texas Rattlesnake" is training hard lately and that he could be getting ready for one final match in the WWE.

According to the report, the latest word is that a return match for Austin is not out of the question for this year and it all boils down to the right creative plans and what kind of money the WWE offers. Austin has said in the past he'd like to work with CM Punk if he could, but that obviously can't happen with Punk leaving the company in January unless something happens.

Austin has given mixed signals about a possible return recently as he told Sam Roberts that he didn't have the hunger to return when talking about Sting joining the WWE during SummerSlam weekend.

"No, I had a great breakfast this morning, no hunger at all," Austin said. "Especially as it pertains to the squared circle."

On the reverse side of things, Austin also recently hinted at wrestling at WrestleMania 32 in Texas despite saying on his podcast he wouldn't want to put in all the necessary work for just a one match blowoff.

"I'll reserve my right to if I want to have another match down the road - say, like, Dallas, Texas is going to be [WrestleMania 32]," he told PWTorch  Now, 31 is right down the road from me. That could be doable, but I don't see it happening. Now, Dallas, that could be very special going back to Texas for 32. They're going to need a loaded card to fill that house. So, I'll reserve my right. But, am I pushing, pandering, selling, promoting? Nothing."

Austin has appeared sporadically in the WWE over the last few years, but he hasn't worked a match since completing his WrestleMania trilogy of matches with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in 2003 at WrestleMania XIX.

It remains to be seen, but it's possible that Austin will raise hell in a WWE ring once again somewhere down the line.
