After reports that the two sides broke ties after failing to reach an agreement, Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis remains hopeful that the team can sign former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison. "I think both sides would like to get something concluded. I think it will happen shortly at some point here," Lewis said on Friday, via the team's official website. "Not long. Because I think everybody realizes when we go into the draft, then it becomes different situations."
Both Harrison and former Miami Dolphins linebacker Karlos Dansby visited Cincinnati last week. The Bengals are looking to fill the void left by former starting outside linebacker Manny Lawson opting to sign with the Buffalo Bills this offseason.
The 34-year-old Harrison, who was set to make $6.57 million in 2013, was released by the Steelers last month after refusing to take a pay cut. His agent said that his client would be open to returning to Pittsburgh, however, the Steelers are not interested according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
