Floyd Mayweather Next Fight: Amir Khan 'Number One On the List,' Manny Pacquiao Unlikely [VIDEO]

With Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s second fight vs. Marcos Maidana, a unanimous decision victory for "Money," in the books, all eyes are on whom Mayweather will face next. According to his father and trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., there's a clear-cut favorite.

"More than likely it won't be Pacquiao," Mayweather Sr. said. "I would say Amir Khan is No.1 on the list, but that's still not even permanent. There's still a few other fighters out there. I can't say who's permanent unless they ask for it."

Khan has been the frontrunner before. Last fall he pulled out of a scheduled fight with Devon Alexander in anticipation of a Mayweather fight being announced. He was bypassed by Maidana, who shocked Adrien Broner in December 2013. When the first fight was more competitive than expected, Maidana got the rematch that was held on September 13.

Fans are still clamoring for Mayweather to face Manny Pacquiao, but Mayweather's post fight comments shed little light on whether or not his motivation for a super fight is gaining steam.

If Pacquiao is the plan, it will be a long time before anything is finalized. Pacquiao is scheduled for a November 22 bout vs. Chris Algieri, and Mayweather appears to be having problems within his camp.

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe and Mayweather are "growing apart," according to the pound-for-pound king, and there is speculation Richard Schaefer, former Golden Boy CEO, could be close to replacing him.

"I think we're just getting to a point where we're outgrowing each other. I think I just see things my way and I think he sees things in another way. For example, this time around when I went out and fought, my WBC and WBA titles in both weight classes were on the line and I didn't approve of that at all. That's something I didn't approve of," Mayweather said.

Later on in his comments, he likened the situation to a divorce.

"There's just a lot of other things within our team that's just not right. Leonard wasn't in my corner, so, you know, it's not any hard feelings. It's just people outgrow one another. I'm not mad at him. There's no hard feeling like I hate the guy; not at all. No hard feelings whatsoever. People just outgrow one another, just like when people get a divorce. They're no longer on the same page mentally."
