Today at 1:00 p.m. ET the San Diego Chargers (1-1), fresh off a huge win vs. the defending champion Seahawks, will take on the undefeated Buffalo Bills (2-0) at Ralph Wilson Stadium on CBS in an AFC matchup that can be live streamed here by clicking this link. Chargers fans can hear the radio broadcast on The Rock 105.3, while Bills fans may do the same on WGR 550.
The Bills may be 2-0 and in sole possession of first place in the AFC East, but rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins feels there's a lot of room for improvement, beginning with their red zone offense. "It's sad to just be kicking field goals. That's something we have to fix," Watkins said.
Watkins had a breakout game in Week 2, hauling in eight passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback EJ Manuel targeted him 11 times, and if not for some inaccuracy, Watkins could have had an even bigger game.
"You're never going to be perfect, but the good thing is we're still coming out with two wins versus two great teams," Manuel said. "As long as we win, I'm happy."
The Chargers are riding high too after quarterback Philip Rivers' big game against Seattle's vaunted "Legion of Boom" secondary. The run game is equally important to San Diego though, and they'll be without Ryan Mathews for a while with a sprained MCL. Head coach Mike McCoy said he doesn't know how long it will be.
"Everyone recovers differently," McCoy said. "... We've had players who were supposed to be done for the season and the next thing you know they come out there Monday or Wednesday and they're practicing with something torn or something broken or this or that. I don't want to put a timetable on anything."
He'll be replaced by Donald Brown, with Danny Woodhead also mixing in.
