Sting WWE Debut Rumors: Steve Borden Slated For WrestleMania 31 Match, Update On His Status [VIDEO]

In the latest update on Steve "Sting" Borden's WWE status for an in-ring return, he has still not agreed to a deal to perform in a wrestling capacity for the company, but it is highly expected the two sides will work out a pact for him to compete at WrestleMania 31 in March.

WWE Monday Night RAW Preview And Rumors

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that while Sting has a merchandising deal with the WWE and a 2K Sports pact to appear in WWE 2K15, there is no change in his status to return to the ring as he hasn't inked a deal to work as a competitor in the WWE.

While that is the case, there is still an expectation that the two sides will come to an agreement that will see Sting wrestle a match -- his first in WWE and possibly last of his career -- at WrestleMania 31 at Levi's Stadium on March 29, 2015 in Santa Clara, Calif.

Health Update On The Undertaker

Sting has remained as the one mainstream talent from WCW that WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon has failed to officially bring in for a match, but with Sting openly talking about joining the WWE family and wanting one last match, it seems like a foregone conclusion that something will happen.

Sting has said in the past that he would love to work with The Undertaker, but his career is up in the air after he lost to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX in April which ended The Streak and saw 'Taker suffer a legitimate injury, putting his future participation in the squared circle in doubt.

There were rumors that Sting was going to face 'Taker at WrestleMania XXX, but the WWE opted to go with Lesnar, who has since won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Sting would like to face 'Taker at WrestleMania 31, but it remains to be seen if the dead man will wrestle. Sting has also mentioned Triple H as a possible opponent.

The WWE has been teasing a "next generation" movement for this week's Monday Night RAW, and Sting was the latest personality to tweet about the teaser, which is likely linked to WWE 2K15.

It's Showtime. 9.22.14," the former WCW and TNA icon tweeted.

While nothing is official yet, it seems that Sting will strike a deal with the WWE and work at WrestleMania 31 on March 29.
