Two clubs in opposite halves of the Liga BBVA table will do battle today in a league match between Real Madrid and Elche. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti had this to offer ahead of today's league encounter (via Inside Spanish Football): "Just as the president [Florentino Perez] said yesterday, unity is very important for us. We have three important things: The club, the players, the fans. With all of those united, it's much easier to fight for our objectives. Towards the end of last season, we were really united and I believe that's why we achieved the things we did."
"We know we have other options within our philosophy," he added when asked about his tactics. "Such as: Once in a while, making the team more solid in the middle. [Asier] Illarramendi gave us that at the Riazor and he had a good game. To avoid the sort of problems we had at Anoeta, we changed things a little to provide more defensive cover."
