Real Madrid Transfer News: Marco Reus Agrees to €25 Million Deal With Madrid, Won't Renew Contract With Borussia Dortmund?

Already enjoying an embarrassment of riches in the attack, Real Madrid have identified their latest target. According to German publication Sport BILD (via Goal), Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus has told the club he doesn't want to renew his contract and has the intentions of leaving the Bundesliga next summer.

Coupled with a report from Marco (via Sportive), Reus' next destination is the Spanish capital. Per the Spanish press, the 25-year-old has already agreed in principle to sign with Real Madrid for €25 million next summer.

Before the season, Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp was adamant that his star player wouldn't be departing Germany anytime soon. "I can tell you I have a great feeling regarding Marco Reus' future at Borussia Dortmund," Klopp told Deutsche Presse Agentur (via Sky Sports). "Marco will definitely be around at our club for quite a while."

Club chief Hans-Joachim Watzke doubled down on that notion, adding (via the Mirror): "We have said many times this summer that Reus will not leave. There is no possibility that he will play elsewhere. We will try to tie him to our club for longer and we are proceeding with peace of mind that he will renew his deal."

If the reports hold any weight, Watzke's efforts were futile.

In two matches with Dortmund this season, Reus has already contributed one goal and an assist. His average four key passes and 1.5 tackles per match highlight the totality of his game.

His presence wouldn't be a necessary one at that Santiago Bernabeu, but his added dynamism would be a welcomed one.
