Today at 1:35 the New York Yankees (83-78) will play their last game of the season at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox (71-90), a fitting opponent for Yankees captain Derek Jeter's final game. Live stream the game free by clicking this link; Yankees fans can hear the radio broadcast on 101.9 WFAN, while Red Sox fans may do likewise on 93.7 WEEI. The Yankees will have Michael Pineda (4-5, 1.93 ERA) against Clay Buchholz (8-10, 5.31 ERA).

The captain went out with a bang in his Yankee Stadium finale, socking an RBI double and then winning the game with a walk-off, opposite field single. While that may have been better if it had been the Yanks' final game of the year, Jeter said finishing up in Fenway is a great way to go out too.

"If there is anywhere else to play besides New York, I guess it is only fitting that it is here in Boston," Jeter told MLB's official website. "All of the times I've played here and the rivalry. If I can't do it in New York, this is the next best place, I guess."

Fans likely won't be able to see Jeter play shortstop today-he was pulled from yesterday's matchup with a sore hamstring, but he's expected to be the designated hitter. Entering game No. 162, Jeter's hitting .256 with four home runs, 49 RBI and 10 stolen bases.

Despite the fierce rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox, the vibes are expected to be mostly positive. The atmosphere prior to Jeter's home finale, however, was less so in the Yankees clubhouse. Manager Joe Girardi reportedly ripped into the club for a lack of effort in some cases, and conditioning in others.

"I just let them know what we expect for next year," said. "None of us is happy we're not playing next week."
