Michigan Football Rumors: Wolverines Target Jim, John Harbaugh if Brady Hoke Fired; Ravens' Coach 'Not Interested'? [VIDEO]

Reports have surfaced that 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and Ravens coach John Harbaugh are being targeted by Michigan in the event they fire Brady Hoke. While Michigan prefers John to Jim, it appears that the Ravens coach isn't interested in the position.

According to the Baltimore Sun, John Harbaugh would not join the Wolverines if offered the position due to his connection to Hoke.

“An unconfirmed NFL Network report Sunday stated that Michigan is highly interested in Ravens coach John Harbaugh and prefers him over San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.

While Michigan may be interested in him, John Harbaugh isn't expected to pursue a job currently held by his friend, Hoke, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The source said there are multiple reasons why John Harbaugh wouldn't be inclined to go after the job beyond his friendship and loyalty to Hoke. A big reason is that Harbaugh is content as coach of the Ravens (3-1), with whom he won Super Bowl XLVII just two seasons ago over Jim Harbaugh's 49ers.”

Michigan is currently 2-3 (0-1 Big Ten) and has dropped back-to-back home games to the likes of Utah and Minnesota. Hoke could be on his way out of town before long and the Harbaugh brothers are Michigan’s prime targets to coach the Wolverines next.

The rumors of Michigan targeting the Harbaugh brothers have picked up steam in the previous weeks as reports of Jim Harbaugh leaving the 49ers started to emerge. Many believe that Harbaugh will leave the 49ers at the end of the season due to ‘losing the locker room’ and his relationship with the organization.

Jim Harbaugh played quarterback for the Wolverines from 1983-86 while John played at Miami (OH).
