New York is 2-1 in the preseason thus far while Philadelphia is 2-4 and will close out its exhibition slate with tonight's game. The Rangers topped the Flyers 4-3 at Madison Square Garden Monday night.

New York is coming off of a 2013-14 campaign where it finished 45-31-6 (96 points) and second in the Metropolitan Division before going all the way to the Stanley Cup Final and losing to the Los Angeles Kings.

Philadelphia went 42-30-10 (94 points) and finished in third place in the Metropolitan Division before falling to New York in seven games in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Claude Giroux will make his preseason debut tonight after sustaining a lower-body injury on the first day of training camp. Giroux, a Hart Trophy finalist a year ago, led the Flyers with 86 points last season off of 28 goals and 58 assists.

Jakub Voracek was second on Philadelphia last year with 62 points off of 23 tallies and 39 helpers and Wayne Simmonds was third on the team with 60 points off of finding the back of the net 29 times and adding 31 assists.

Giroux is ready for his return.

"I feel good," Giroux said, according to NJ.com. "The last few practices I've been testing it out pretty good and it feels good, so I'll be playing."

The Rangers hope to duplicate the success of Monday night where some of their young guns vying for roster spots shined.

"The kids know there's ice time and roles available," said coach Alain Vigneault, via BlueShirtsUnited.com. "It's a good situation for our team in the sense that we are being put in a situation where we have decisions to make. That's a lot more pleasant and fun for everybody."

Martin St. Louis, who arrived in a trade last March, led New York with 69 points off of 30 goals and 39 assists last year -- most of which were with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Mats Zuccarello was second on the team with 59 points off of 19 markers and 40 helpers and Derek Stepan, who is out 4-6 weeks with a fractured fibula, found the twine 17 times while adding 40 assists to rank third on the team with 57 points.

Two division rivals go head-to-head for the second straight night when the Rangers and Flyers faceoff tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
