UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has taken some time away from the octagon to recover from a few minor injuries, and that has given her the chance to show off her softer side.

Rousey has been spending a lot of time in Brazil recently for media tours on behalf of the UFC. She did a bikini photo shoot during her latest trip and a behind-the-scenes video surfaced on Sunday. The video, which can be seen at the bottom of the page, shows the playful and gentle side of "Rowdy" that is often overlooked thanks to her in-ring persona.

Rousey took a few photos in a couple different dresses, even posing in a tree at one point. She then hit the beach for a few bikini pictures. This is a stark contrast from the intense and dominant fighter who won her last title defense by knockout in just 16 seconds. Rousey posted a few behind-the-scenes photos on her Instagram:

Rousey is no stranger to getting dolled up for sexy photo shoots. She posed for Maxim last year and was the cover girl for the magazine's September 2013 issue. She also earned the 29th spot on Maxim's "Hot 100" list for that year. She also posed nude for ESPN the Magazine's "Body" issue in 2012.

Despite tapping into her softer side Rousey hasn't shied away from verbally assaulting her rivals, most recently berating Cris "Cyborg" Justino in a recent interview.

Rousey is expected to defend her title against top contender Cat Zingano at UFC 182 on Jan. 3. That event is headlined by light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defending his belt against rival Daniel Cormier.
