Kurt Angle WWE Return [UPDATE]: Backstage News On Angle Possibly Returning To The Company [VIDEO]

There were reports going around that former WWE Superstar Kurt Angle was in negotiations with company officials to return to the organization now that his TNA contract expired, but there have been some disputes over the rumors.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Dave Meltzer disputed online reports on Wrestling Observer Radio that stated Angle was in talks with the WWE and was given a full-time offer from them.

It was reported over the weekend that Angle and the WWE were in negotiations and the company gave him a full-time offer that the Olympic gold medalist turned down due to the fact that his body couldn't handle a full-time schedule and all of the travel that comes with it.

Meltzer said that the reports of the WWE offering Angle a full-time contract are false unless it's just a negotiating tactic on the WWE's part to show sincerity toward Angle with an offer the company knew he'd respectfully decline.

Vince McMahon has reportedly been opposed to allowing Angle to return to wrestle due to his health concerns in the past.

Meltzer said he felt that the only plausible way the WWE may be willing to bring him back is on a farewell tour as long as he passes the physical and wellness tests -- and Angle has had a problem with substance abuse in the past.

Angle said he is open to a return to TNA and he still feels like he can wrestle and he would very much like to compete in the final run of his career.

Angle hasn't appeared in the WWE since 1999 and it remains to be seen if he'll end up returning to the company for the first time since 2006.
