Miami Dolphins Rumors: Knowshon Moreno Suffers Torn ACL; Placed on Injured Reserve [VIDEO]

Miami Dolphins running back Knowshon Moreno has been placed on injured reserve after a MRI revealed he has a torn ACL.

Moreno tore the ACL in the third quarter of the Dolphins 27-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers and played another play after he tore the ligament. This is Moreno’s first and only season with the Dolphins and is a unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

“Moreno sustained an ACL tear during Sunday's Week 6 loss to the Packers, although we didn't see it and the Dolphins made no mention of it. His first season in Miami ends badly hampered by an offseason knee scope and a Week 2 elbow injury. Moreno will enter free agency again this offseason, this time at 27 years old with even more injury concerns than last year when he settled for a one-year, $3M deal from the Dolphins. He'll find scant interest. Lamar Miller, who has been playing at a very high level over the last month, is locked and loaded as Miami's feature back the rest of the way.”

Moreno totaled 31 carries for 148 yards and one touchdown in his time with the Dolphins and had already missed three games for Miami this season due to injury. Moreno had not started for the Dolphins this season and all his appearances were off the bench.

Lamar Miller will continue to get the bulk of the work out of the backfield for Miami and Daniel Thomas is expected to be his primary backup going forward. The Dolphins are 2-3 and face a hot Chicago Bears team on the road this coming Sunday.
