Detroit Lions Rumors: Calvin Johnson Chooses to Sit Until 100 Percent Healed [VIDEO]

As Calvin Johnson continues to rehab his high ankle sprain, he spoke about the injury and said there is ‘no point’ to play at anything less than 100 percent.

Johnson spoke to the media about the injury and he said that he will play again this season, but that until he is 100 percent there is no reason for him to be on the ankle. he has said in the past that he doesn’t want to be used as a decoy in the offense.

"Like I said, there's no point in being on the field if I can't go out there and do what I got to do," Johnson said Wednesday. "Do what I got to do and do it to a high level that I'm used to doing it at.”

"Not beating it up," Johnson said. "Not getting out there, rolling it again, it definitely helps you. More and more you can stay off that particular area, the faster it can heal.”

The Lions stand at 4-2 and are playing some of the best defense in the NFL this season. Johnson has been missed on the offensive end as the Lions rank 14th and 29th in passing and rushing offense respectively. The Lions host the New Orleans Saints who are coming off a bye week, but will be without star tight end Jimmy Graham.

Lions' Calvin Johnson Out Until Week 10?   

Johnson has 22 catches for 348 yards and two touchdowns this season and totaled only one catch for seven yards in his last appearance for the Lions.
