Donovan McNabb on Jay Cutler: Former NFL Star Rips Bears Quarterback; 'He's the Tony Romo of the Midwest' [VIDEO]

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has taken a lot of criticism throughout his career for his struggles during big moments, and now a former NFL signal-caller is questioning his abilities.

Donovan McNabb ripped into Cutler on Wednesday while speaking on 87.7-FM in Chicago. The former Philadelphia Eagles star compared Cutler to another NFC quarterback who also has a reputation for struggling during crunch time.

"He's the Tony Romo of the Midwest," McNabb said, according to Sports Illustrated. "We can talk about arm talent, we can talk about being able to throw a ball through a wall. He can put up 280, 340 yards passing, but you look across the board he's got two interceptions in a game that cost them maybe 14 points or so. That hurts a football team."

Cutler only has one playoff victory in his nine seasons in the NFL. He has thrown for 1,676 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions with a 68.1 percent completion rate so far this season while leading the Bears to a 3-3 record. With weapons at his disposal like receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, many believe Cutler's numbers should greatly exceed what they are.

McNabb led the Eagles to five NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl appearance and won nine playoff games in his career. Now an analyst for FOX Sports, McNabb believes quarterbacks are defined by how they perform in the postseason.

"The question is why [can't you lead your team to the playoffs]? Because you're so talented, the potential is there, but why haven't you been able to do it? You can only say for so long that it's been the talent," McNabb said. "They have some talent around [Cutler], that's never been the issue. Now can you put it all together? To be honest, the answer is no."
