Buffalo Bills Rumors: C.J. Spiller, Fred Jackson Expected to Miss Significant Time with Injuries [VIDEO]

The Buffalo Bills topped the Minnesota Vikings on a last minute touchdown pass, but in the process they lost not one, but two of their running backs.

Both Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller were injured in Sunday’s victory and are expected to miss an extended period of time. Jackson sat down for his weekly appearance on WGR 550 in Buffalo and spoke about his injury and the status of Spiller.

"It's not as bad as it could have been," Jackson said. "It's typically a four-week injury. But we'll try to do some things to get it sped up.”

"I like to think of myself as somebody who can come back before typical. It's just gonna be on me to get in there and rehab and see the team doctors and do what it is they want me to do.”

Spiller is not so lucky as he was diagnosed with a broke collarbone soon after he was carted off the field and will likely miss the rest of the 2014 season.

"We've been in contact all morning with him. He's in pretty decent spirits for what's going on," Jackson said. "We're praying for him to get through surgery OK ... and we'll see what happens after that.”

Spiller is an unrestricted free agent after this season and was seen as a trade deadline target for many teams. Jackson is expected to return and be the starter for the Bills going forward, but until he returns, Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown will be the new backfield in Buffalo.
