Floyd Mayweather Jr. Next Fight: Devon Alexander Says 'Money' Avoids Black Fighters, Seeks Easier Challenges [VIDEO]

Floyd Mayweather Jr. does not have an opponent or date lined up for his next fight, but Devon Alexander, set to face Amir Khan on December 6, believes Mayweather will not choose a black opponent. According to Alexander, Mayweather avoids the toughest challenges available, and said the black fighters he's faced have given him problems in the ring.

"Me personally Floyd looks at a fighter who is going to pose the less threat to him you know and I did my homework and I have searched every black fighter Floyd has faced and they all gave him some what of trouble. He wants to know what he's going to get when he gets in there, he doesn't want any surprises. Shane [Mosley] hurt him, [DeMarcus] Chop Chop Corley hurt him," Alexander said.

Mayweather came up because Alexander has thoroughly beaten Marcos Maidana, who then got two cracks at Mayweather while Alexander has never faced him.

"When you mention me I think that's what he sees and he don't want that. He's used to the slow Mexicans who aren't going to move around, and he can take advantage of that."

Alexander was supposed to fight Amir Khan last year, only to have Khan pull out of the bout when it appeared he was the frontrunner to take on Mayweather. Alexander then took on up-and-coming Shawn Porter, and lost his IBF title by unanimous decision in December 2013.

Alexander rebounded from that loss in June, defeating Jesus Soto Karass by unanimous decision in a lopsided affair at the Stubhub Center in California. As far as Khan goes, Alexander believes that the issues that have plagued Khan in the past will show up once again on December 6.

"He's a good fighter. He has some speed. I can hit and not get hit, and I'm faster," Alexander said. "He stands there. He's a good, solid fighter, but he don't do anything special. He hits and jumps back. That's how he lost; he got timed jumping in and got caught.

"People know me as a good counter puncher, and I'm fast so of course I will be able to catch him and catch him good, and my boxing will be there, too. So I think I have the ability to outshine him in this one."
