Simmons, Stanley, Frehley, Criss, Izzo? Spartans Coach Creates Greatest Madness Performance Ever [VIDEO]

Stop the Madness, Tom Izzo has won it with a KISS.

The Michigan State basketball team held its Michigan State Madness on Friday night, and the Spartans head coach just put on a show that never will be topped by any other college basketball program.

Izzo dressed up like Gene Simmons of Kiss, came out with a Kiss cover band, armed with his ax - in this case an accordion, to celebrate the Spartans' Midnight Madness, CBSSports.com reported.

It is arguably the greatest stunt in all of midnight madnesses ever produced to tip off college basketball.

The ironic thing about is that Midnight Madness no longer even kicks off the basketball season, as most teams have been practicing for a couple of weeks.

The events now are just a glorified meet and greet with a program's fans, but there was no greater glory in college basketball than in East Lansing on Friday night. As bad as Tubby Smith's motorcycle crash was at Texas Tech's Red Raider event, Izzo both resurrected and shut down the madness concept with his Kiss recreation.

Truth be known, the actual moment didn't capitalize fully on Izzo's masterful idea. The Kiss cover band was playing "Rock and Roll All Nite, when Izzo came on stage dressed as another Simmons. But the band kept playing, muting what had to be tremendous roars from the crowd, especially after Simmons gave the audience a little tongue action, a la Simmons.

But that small blip in the presentation did not dampen the greatest stunt in college basketball preseason history.
