Amir Khan Next Fight: Boxing Promoter Predicts Easy Victory Over Devon Alexander [VIDEO]

Amir Khan is scheduled to take on Devon Alexander on December 13 in a fight designed not only for Khan to stay busy, but to improve his chances at landing a career-high payday against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2015. Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, who has Carl Froch and Kell Brook in his stable, said he thinks Khan will win going away as long as he can stay motivated.

"It's a dangerous fight for Amir because it's a nothing fight," Hearn told BoxingScene.com. "It's one of those 'can you really get yourself up for Devon Alexander' when you desperately want the Floyd Mayweather fight and everyone desperately wants you to fight Kell Brook."

If the analysis is limited to in-ring factors though, Hearn expects a thorough Khan victory. "I think Amir wins quite comfortably," Khan said.

"Don't forget that Shawn Porter scored Devon Alexander and Kell Brook scored Shawn Porter. I don't think the Devon Alexander fight is going to do a lot for Amir. But if it does happen, hopefully he comes through. If he doesn't get Mayweather, hopefully we can make that fight with Kell Brook."

Mayweather has derided Khan's candidacy for a mega fight in 2015, dismissing him as having "Danny Garcia problems," a reference to his knockout loss to Garcia in 2012. Khan has won three straight fights since then, but none against fighters of Garcia's caliber.

Brook vs. Khan appeared on track to happen, but those plans were derailed when Brook was attacked with a machete in September while vacationing in Tenerife. In the days after the stabbing Hearn said he didn't think Brook's injuries would stop a Khan fight from happening in May 2015, when Khan is angling for his Mayweather bout.
