Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant admitted there is some frustration in the midst of the team's 0-2 start, but he also said he is trying to be patient in the wake of early struggles.
The Lakers are coming off of a franchise-worst 27-55 finish to the 2013-14 campaign that saw Bryant only play six games due to injury as the team missed the playoffs for the first time since 2005.
Los Angeles dropped its season-opener 108-90 to the Houston Rockets Tuesday at the Staples Center and then fell 119-99 at the Phoenix Suns Wednesday. Bryant believes these two games aren't foreshadowing how the team will play all season.
"We're not as bad as these two games," Bryant told ESPN Los Angeles. "We're not."
Bryant also disagreed with the assertion from his head coach Byron Scott that he's frustrated over not getting calls from officials.
"The frustration comes from getting blown out twice," Bryant said. "The clutching and grabbing and stuff, I think [head coach] Byron [Scott] is trying to lobby to get me some more calls. That stuff never bothered me. I do quite a bit of it myself."
Bryant also said the team is going to work on continuity as he believes point guard Jeremy Lin needs to take a bigger role on his new team.
"I talked to him a on the bench a little bit [Wednesday night]," he said. "I said, 'You've got to run the offense. Like, I'm telling you to run the offense. You've got to do it.'"
The Lakers look for their first win of the season Friday when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers. For Bryant, the fun will start once the team begins to win games.
"I enjoy playing," the five-time NBA champion said. "But the fun is when you win."
