"Toronto Stronger" Sign Held By Leafs Fan Angers Many.

A "Toronto Stronger" sign held by a Toronto Maple Leafs fan during Game 3 of Toronto's series with the Boston Bruins last night caused outrage.

The sign mocked the "Boston Strong" campaign that has become a strong message in the city since the deadly Boston Marathon Bombings on April 15th that killed three people and injured more than 260.

According to CBS Boston, "Toronto Stronger" was the number one trending topic in Boston on Twitter and Facebook by the second period of the game.

The sign started an army of Boston residents and supporters to change their picture to the Boston Strong ribbon in response to the sign.

"Overwhelmingly, the reaction has been that it was done in bad taste, that it was inappropriate, that it was classless," CBC sports reporter Carly Agro said on CBC News Network Tuesday.

The photo was originally posted on NHL.com, but was later removed, and is now all over the Internet on gallery sites.

The leafs lost 5-2 in the Air Canada Centre, and will be playing again in Toronto on Wedensday night for game 4 of the series.
