Toronto Fan, Recovering From Assault During Game 2 In Boston.

A Toronto Maple Leafs fan who was punched in the head from behind while in Boston watching Game 2, is recovering back home. Kyle Hay, 23, went to Boston with a group of friends to watch the Leafs take on the Boston Bruins at the TD garden on May 4th, in the second game of the series.

"It worked out that the game was actually on my birthday as well, so we were all pretty pumped about it," Hay told CBC News in a recent interview.

Hay recalls a group of Boston fans throwing empty beer cups and peanuts at him and his friends.

The Torontonian, who was wearing a Leafs jersey and a blue mask with a blue and white mohawk says they did not return the taunts, instead focusing only on the game and celebrating after each goal.

The last thing he remembers is someone hitting him from behind in the head on the way out of the arene.

"I didn't see it coming or anything like that," said Hay.

The hit knocked him out cold. Hay said he was out for about three to five minutes.

That punch resulted in Hay getting three staples in the back of his head, a swollen cheek and a concussion, he is waiting for his medical bill to arrive from the states.
