San Francisco 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore will meet with team officials Monday to discuss his future with the franchise.

According to ESPN reports, Lattimore is leaning toward retirement, but he will meet with the 49ers brass to determine what the right move is for both parties. Lattimore’s agent Michael Perrett refuted the ESPN report that Lattimore has already made up his mind to retire and said that no decision will be made immediately.

Lattimore was absent from the 49ers 13-10 loss to the St. Louis Rams and coach Jim Harbaugh said that he "Did not see Marcus," but that he’s "Sure we'll have an announcement about that.”

Lattimore is currently on the non-football injury list and spent the entire 2013 on this list as well. If Lattimore’s knees are not up to par after all this time, maybe it is time for him to hang up the cleats and focus on being healthy for everyday life.
