Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise is sidelined indefinitely with a concussion and there is currently no timetable for his return.
According to NHL.com, Wild head coach Mike Yeo confirmed Thursday that Parise is dealing with a concussion and will not be accompanying the team on its three-game road trip that starts in Ottawa with a game against the Senators on Thursday.
The Wild will also make stops in Montreal and New Jersey for matches with the Canadiens and Devils on the trip as well.
Parise sustained the injury during Minnesota's 4-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins Monday at the Xcel Energy Center. Parise left the game and did not play in the third period, though it is unclear when exactly the ailment came about.
The loss of Parise is a huge blow to Minnesota as he is a top-six forward who is averaging 18:16 time on ice thus far this season.
Parise leads the Wild with 10 points in 11 games this season and has registered four goals while adding six assists. Parise, a native of Minneapolis, is in his fourth season with the Wild.
Parise finished second on the team with 29 goals and 56 points in the regular season in 2013-14 while adding 27 assists. The 10-year forward paced Minnesota with 10 helpers and 14 points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs last spring while tying for the Wild lead with four tallies.
Parise has 194 goals and 216 assists for 410 points through 502 career games with the Wild and Devils.
It is unknown when Parise will return to Minnesota's lineup, but the best-case scenario would be next Thursday when the team hosts the Buffalo Sabres.
