In the midst of a 1-3 start, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and point guard Kyrie Irving reportedly had words with each other and there have been rumors that "King James" is worried about the poor start for the team.
According to ESPN, Irving and James had what was described as a "healthy conversation" after the Cavaliers' 101-82 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday night which led to Irving leaving without speaking to the media.
Cleveland followed it up with a 102-100 loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
In the conversation, James -- who scored just 11 points against Portland -- voiced his concerns about the offense, according to reports.
"There's a lot of bad habits, a lot of bad habits been built up the past couple years," James told reporters after the conversation. "When you play that style of basketball, it takes a lot to get it up out of you."
James also spoke to Irving about the way the 22-year-old has dominated the ball through the first few games of the season. There is some concern that Irving hasn't notched an assist in six quarters.
"For us, it was a growing process that we have to go through," Irving said Wednesday. "It sucks right now. For us, we're still young, and I'm still learning what's going on."
James complimented Irving on his scoring thus far, but he said the lack of assists for the team is baffling. Cleveland tied a franchise record for least assists in a game with six against the Jazz Wednesday, with four of them coming from James.
"You just can't explain [the low assist totals]," James said. "There's no way you're going to win a basketball game like that, just having six assists. ... We just can't win like that, and we got to figure out a way to help each other and not make it so tough."
The Cavaliers kicked off the season with a loss to the New York Knicks at home and then defeated the Bulls in Chicago before dropping the back-to-back games to the Trail Blazers and Jazz.
Cleveland closes out its four-game road trip with a visit to the Denver Nuggets on Friday and then returns home to host the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.
