Alex Ferguson Retires: David Moyes To Replace Ferguson.

David Moyes will be announced as new Manchester United manager after Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement this morning, according to Telegraph Sports.

The announcement of Fergie's retirement after 26 and-a-half years at Old Trafford, has started a frenzy of questioning who his successor would be, most fingers are pointing to Everton manager David Moyes to succeed the 71-year-old Scot.

Telegraph Sports has stated that Moyes, who's contract at Everton expires at the end of the season, has already been confirmed as United's new coach and will be confirmed to the media and public before their next game, on Sunday, against Swansea.

Over the past few years, speculation of Jose Mourinho, or Pep Guardiola being linked to the club to replace Ferguson have been made popular by Media, but both lack the support of the higher-ups in United's governing body.

Moyes's record at Everton since his arrival from Preston North End in 2002 is below par for Manchester United standards. The Scottish born manager's only trophy came seven years after joining Everton, winning the FA Cup in 2009.

Moyes's experience in building teams and promoting youth's to first team is said to be the reason for United's interest in the 50-year-old.

Everton have not yet commented on the topic but Moyes's contract ensures that he could leave the club without any issues.
