Per the report, Milan is seeking an option to permanently acquire his services for £7 million.

Campbell is out of favor in 2014. The 22-year-old has only featured in 37 minutes for manager Arsene Wenger, this despite being one of the few talents at his disposal that scored in Champions League and World Cup play.

His discrepancy in playing time has reached its peak.

According to the Mirror, a frustrated Campbell was furious after being left off the first-team squad for contests against Burnley and Anderlecht at the Emirates. Wenger opted for Yaya Sanogo, a 21-year-old Frenchman with zero Premier League goals in 11 appearances, instead.

Perplexing Campbell's frustration was his manager's decision to block a transfer to Benfica in August. The move would've provided the young striker first-team minutes in both domestic and European competition, but Wenger determined a stunting stint on the bench to be a better option for his development.

With the Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott both returning from injury, a January transfer becomes increasingly plausible for Costa Rica's young star.
