Jay-Z News: Can Jay-Z Save Geno Smith?

If anybody can restore Geno Smith’s image, it might be Jay-Z.

At least, that seems to be the mindset of all the shot callers at Roc Nation Sports. Rumors persist that Jay-Z’s new sports agency wants to rep the rookie New York Jets quarterback.  According to ThaCover2, Roc Nation was one of several firms to have agents on hand to meet with Smith during two-day negotiating meetings that just concluded.

Also on hand were super-agents Eugene Smith, Joel Segal, Fletcher Smith and Rick Smith of Priority Sports. Smith is expected to make a decision by Monday.

In considering Roc Nation, one of the variables he might want to consider is Jay-Z’s own rags to riches story of growing up a delinquent in Brooklyn’s Marcy Home Projects to now reigning as a Fortune 500 business mogul.

And it’s not as if Smith couldn’t use a little more good fortune. After being projected as a potential lottery pick in the recent NFL Draft, Smith tumbled all the way into the second round and his hard-knock-life luck didn’t end there.

In the aftermath, he was blasted for what some deemed “a diva like attitude,” as well as his initial decision to leave the NFL Green Room after he remained on the draft board far longer than he expected to.
