Today at 1:00 p.m. ET the Seattle Seahawks (6-3) will try to shake off some recently shaky play in a tough matchup at Arrowhead Stadium against the Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) on Fox. The Seattle Seahawks enter play with a feared secondary nicknamed the Legion of Boom, but as far as points given up per game, Kansas City has them beat. Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman and Co. have been challenged more lately, and while it still may be unwise opposing quarterbacks are seeing some success.

Chiefs QB Alex Smith is far from a strong-armed gunslinger, but his accuracy and smarts may give him a chance in this tough matchup.

"I think (Smith is) doing a nice job of spreading it around and then taking advantage of what's there," Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said. "I don't think any of the guys really get caught up in any of that. They just go play. Ball comes to them, then it comes. If it doesn't come to them, then they are blocking. Very unselfish guys."

The Seahawks front seven also suffered a major blow, losing lineman Brandon Mebane for the rest of the year because of a torn right hamstring. "There is nobody like Mebane," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "He's a unique player. He's had, I think, the best season he's had since we've been here -- most consistent. So that's a big hit to take.

"But our guys that go in play good football, too, so we will expect them to play up and maintain the level."
