Michael Phelps, an 18-time gold medalist, is done with rehab, but now he has some issues to attend to in his personal life. 41 year-old Taylor Lianne Chandler, the self-proclaimed girlfriend of Phelps, recently revealed that she was actually born male, and that her original name was David Roy Fitch.
According to the Daily Mail, Chandler was born intersex, meaning she had both male genitalia and a uterus, although she did not have testicles or ovaries. As a teenager, Chandler began taking testosterone blockers and changed her name. She had her male genitalia removed with surgical procedures when she was in her twenties.
Chandler took to Facebook to further explain her past, saying, "I was never a man, never lived as a man. No one can say they knew me as a man or produce a photo of me as a man."
Chandler says that she met Phelps on Tinder and that the two just clicked. She described their time together by saying, "Spending time with him was like a teenage love affair."
Chandler has previously detailed their first date, claiming that they had sex during halftime at a Baltimore Ravens game and later adding, "The intimacy with him was amazing! It was the first time in my life that someone has made me feel like a true woman."

Chandler claims that she never lied to Phelps about her past, but admits that it never came up. Chandler is now worried that her relationship with Phelps will end as a result of her revelation. The swimmer has not made any comments about the story, having just completed his rehab program on Wednesday. He entered rehab shortly after a DUI arrest on September 30. Phelps is in the midst of a six-month suspension from competitive swimming because of his DUI arrest.
