Oscar Pistorius Getting Favorable Treatment? Investigation Begins Despite Sister's Claims of False Reporting [VIDEO]

Oscar Pistorius is caught in an "it said, she said" predicament.

The double-amputee Olympic sprinter "celebrated" his 28th birthday behind bars over the weekend. The Times of South Africa originally reported that Pistorius' brother Carl and sister Aimee brought Pistorius a string of balloons, a gift bag and a birthday cake purchased outside the Kgosi Mampuru prison.

Oscar Pistorius verbally bullied Reeva Steenkamp?

The Times added that Pistorius's siblings spent two hours with the man convicted of culpable homicide in the 2013 Valentine's Day shooting of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. He has a five-year prison sentence but could be remanded to house custody in 10 months.

Neither Carl's nor Aimee's cars were searched as they entered the prison grounds, the Times reported and both were allowed to use a different exit to avoid a Times photographer.

June Steenkamp says Oscar Pistorius saw her daughter only has a "trophy"

Aimee Pistorius took to Twitter to vehemently deny the claims, a later Times report indicated.

As News24.com reported, however, Aimee Pistorius' tweets did not comment on the claims the she and her brother Carl were allowed to drive cars on the Kgosi Mampuru prision premises without been searched nor that she and Carl were allowed to exit the facility through an alternate entrance.

Correctional services spokesman Logan Maistry told the newspaper that Oscar Pistorius was not getting preferential treatment, but the department would nevertheless investigate the allegations. So far, no report has been made public.

Pistorius claimed he thought Steenkamp was an intruder when he shot her four times through a bathroom door in their Pretoria, South Africa home. Reports indicate that Pistorius and Steenkamp had been seeing each other for three months, and her mother, June Steenkamp, claims that her daughter never had sex with Pistorius and was ready to leave Pistorius, perhaps as soon as that evening.

June Steenkamp's accusations that her daughter had never been intimate with Pistorius bring to question why Steenkamp would be sleeping in Pistorius' bed and why she was living with him - which June Steenkamp admitted confused her as well.

Pistorius has served one month of his 10-month prison sentence. The prosecution in his trial has received a Dec. 9 court date to appeal his verdict and sentencing.
