It's been nearly a year since former WWE Superstar CM Punk walked out on the company, but the "Best in the World" finally opened up about the reasons why he opted to leave wrestling.

Punk appeared on his friend Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast and told him the story behind why he decided to walk out on the WWE in January.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Punk said when he left the WWE on the night after the Royal Rumble he was dealing with health problems such as a concussion, injuries to his knees and broken ribs.

Punk said he had a fever for months and no appetite while adding that during the WWE's European tour last November he threw up and had dry heaves after every match. He also said that his paychecks started to shrink and the WWE doctors gave him so many antibiotics that he had an accident in the ring on SmackDown.

Punk suffered a concussion early on in the Royal Rumble Match -- his last bout with the company -- in January and he underwent a test for the head injury the following day, which he called bull s--t. WWE informed him that he passed the test and they wanted him to run the ring ropes to test it out, but he demanded that they would just admit he had a concussion before he walked out.

After the concussion test, Punk said that he was being pressured into acquiring visas for other tours and to take drug tests, which added to his anger.

Punk said he then told off Triple H for cutting off his push in 2011 and told Vince McMahon that he was stifling him creatively. Punk then said he told them it was garbage that Daniel Bryan wasn't being considered for the WrestleMania XXX main event at the time. Punk then told them he was leaving and that he didn't want to wrestle anymore.

According to Punk, McMahon was in tears when he said goodbye to him and the two hugged. McMahon then told Punk that he was family.

Punk also said that he was fired from the WWE as he was told by McMahon via text message that he was suspended for two months, but never heard from the WWE after that. Punk then received his termination papers in the mail on the day of his wedding with WWE Diva AJ Lee in June.

Punk said he then got an aggressive lawyer to fight WWE on the breach of contract issue and he ended up getting everything he wanted and more.; Punk said that he can't talk about the settlement, but he and the WWE are done and will never have a working relationship again.

The WWE wanted to release a joint statement with Punk, but he told them to f--k off. The company was also afraid that he'd go to TNA, but his lawyer in formed the organization that Punk hates wrestling and is done with it.

Punk also called Ryback a "steroid guy" and said that working with him took 20 years off of his life.

Ryback took to Twitter to respond to Punk by having his action figure put through a table:

It appears as though Punk will never wrestle again and that his relationship with the WWE is over.
