The Colts would seem to be a perfect fit for Rice after the season-ending injury to Ahmad Bradshaw, although they seem unlikely to be interested in dealing with the media circus that will surely come with Rice if he joins a new team. Other teams are interested in Rice, but league sources declined to identify which teams they are.
There are doubts about how much value Rice could provide to a team since he has not played football since training camp.
Even if reports are true that he has stayed in great shape, he may need a few games to readjust to NFL game speed. Teams in the playoff hunt may not feel like waiting on Rice to get acclimated, and teams that are out of the race may prefer to wait and try to find a running back in next year's NFL draft.
